Title: Open Educational Resources at the University of Plymouth

Abstract: The University of Plymouth currently hosts three HEA/JISC funded projects to support the development, release and reuse of,Open Educational Resources, ...teaching, learning and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use or re-purposing by others. (OECD 2007). Learning from WOeRK, funding of £247,000 to develop the equivalent of 360 credits of OERs to support accredited work-related continuing professional development (CPD) activity Educational Development Open Resources (EDOR), funding of £20,000 to establish a collection of innovative pedagogic open educational resources for sharing and reuse The Open Fieldwork (OF) project, based in the GEES subject centre, funding of £75,000 to identify existing open fieldwork education resources, drawing them together to allow easy discovery and reuse in the GEES and wider HE community. These projects also build on the earlier work of the C-change OER project managed by GEES and also based at Plymouth. The University consequently has a high national profile for its work in this area.
Description: This is a short Newsletter produced by OER projects at the University of Plymouth for an internal audience. It outlines the nature, benefits and extent of OER activity at the University of Plymouth. The Newletter was produced in May 2011.
